Celebrating New Speakers, Carla Rogers and Aunty Munya’s Victory at the 2024 Telstra Best Business Awards

In a big win for compassion and community, Carla Rogers and Aunty Munya Andrews of Evolve Communities have been recognised with the National Building Communities award at the 2024 Telstra Best of Business Awards. At the National Judging, Carla and Aunty Munya pitched to the judges, against an array of fellow Building Communities State Winners. Their advocacy for inclusivity and respect led to their well-deserved victory, as the judges were impressed by the scale of Evolve Communities’ impact and their commitment to making the world a kinder place. Aunty Munya’s influence on social media was noted, with recognition of her role in promoting gentleness and kindness in Australian society.

Aunty Munya expressed gratitude for the ability to share their journey with fellow Finalists, reflecting on this in her acceptance speech. “What an honour and a privilege to be associated with all of you beautiful, talented, and creative people”. Carla Rogers echoed this sentiment, thanking Telstra, the judges, and the Alumni for their support. “Our vision is for non-Indigenous people like myself to join our thriving communities of Allies,” she said. “Together, we can create a kinder, more inclusive Australia.”
