Sam Webb: Out and About
He may have been both a Survivor’s fan favourite and well-loved on Ramsey Street, but there is so much more to Sam Webb than what you may have seen on screen. As the co-founder and former CEO of the mental health charity LIVIN, Sam has created a movement that is actively changing cultural views about masculinity and strength. He’s a life-changing mental health speaker and thought leader with many important lessons to share about the power of vulnerability, importance of human connection and building resilience through passion. Sam Webb’s voice is changing the world, and luckily for us, he’s bringing his powerful message to Australian shores in early November.
Founded on the Gold Coast, LIVIN was created following the death of Sam’s good friend, who like countless others, took his life after suffering in silence from a mental illness. Now this incredible charity is saving thousands of lives through education programs, apparel, and community awareness initiatives, all based around one simple but potent idea; “It Ain’t Weak to Speak.”
As an acclaimed motivational speaker, Sam offers wisdom on mental health based on his own experiences and turning points in life. He’s a firm believer that inspiring as many people as he can to connect, support, and encourage one another to talk about their feelings and challenges is key to changing our global mental health landscape.
An inspirational speaker of TEDxNYC, he has worked with countless companies, from Virgin Australia to KPMG, to facilitate mental health conversations in the workplace. But his list of honourable achievements certainly does not end there. Sam is also an accomplished writer, spreading his deeply moving message of hope as a contributing author to the life-changing novel Turning Tragedy into Triumph and his work as a journalist, with his articles featured on Yahoo News, Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness, and even WHO. To top it all off, he was recently voted one of Men’s Health 26 most influential Men in Health & Fitness!
Sam also has a wealth of other practical lessons to share in and around the mental health sphere. From using adaptable planning techniques to create a winner’s mindset, and redefining your relationship with the word “Failure”, to understanding the feedback loop of progress and even simply how to ask for help, Sam seems to know exactly how to best go about turning adversities into opportunities and teaching others to do the same through his highly relatable delivery.
A powerful catalyst for both personal and organisational transformation, Sam Webb’s story is one that everybody needs to hear. By sharing his tools and processes, he is sure to empower anybody to prioritise their mental health and truly embrace living a better life. He is both a deeply inspiring mental health speaker and a forward-thinking educator dedicated to breaking the “I’m Fine” mentality and living with integrity as a unified community. Sam Webb has changed so many lives, and we can’t wait to share his message with audiences around the country in November so he can have the opportunity to transform many more.
